Tantrum Design is a Bristol (UK) based Mechanical Design consultancy primarily offering mechanical design, CAD and visualisation services.

My name is Graham Hobbs and I'm a freelance/consultant mechanical design engineer. Over the past 22 yrs I've worked within a few different industries - Astronomy, Machine tool design, Pre-press equipment, Product Design and Aerospace - all of which have given me the experience and expertise that I can offer today.

I specialise in mechanical design, using Autodesk Inventor 3D/2D CAD to help clients from concept to design to drawings to production. I've been using 3D CAD packages for the past 15 years. As well as using Autodesk Inventor I can also use PTC CoCreate Modeling (now known as PTC Creo Elements/Direct).

I also get heavily involved in assembly and commissioning of the designed mechanical system. I have experience of general mechanical assembly work through to specialist opto-mechanical alignment using optical and interferometric techniques.

As well as design, I can offer visualisation and animation services using Autodesk 3Ds Max Design (aka '3D Studio'). Visualisation can really give life to a design prior to it being manufactured. It gives the client chance to properly review the design before committing to manufacture. The images/videos are also a very powerful tool for sales and marketing purposes.
